In a week time the Key West Pride will take place. This event officially starts on  Wednesday the 7th of June and ends on Sunday the 11th of June, but there is already a pre-opening event on Tuesday! A wide range of events are organized during the Key West Pride. The event is a platform for celebration, but also serves as a catalyst for change. Ofcourse the pride also promotes acceptance and fosters a sense of community.

The highlight of the events is without a doubt the gay parade.This edition of the parade celebrates the 20th anniversity of the special sea-to-sea diversity flag which was used in 2003. In 2003 an almost 2 kilometer long rainbow flag was constructed and shown to the world. The name sea-to-sea stands for the fact that the rainbow flag connected the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean. The orginal flag has been divided in pieces and distributed to pride events and festivals all around the world.
