Alda Hotel is located on Laugaveggur, Reykjavik’s main shopping street. The hotel for gays in Reykjavik offers rooms with modern decor. Some of which have a balcony with views of the sea or the city. You can use the fitness facilities, the sauna and you can rent bicycles. In particular, the extremely friendly and helpful staff is much appreciated by guests of the Alda Hotel. Reykjavik’s Art Museum is a ten minute walk from the hotel, Tjörnin Lake is a kilometer away and Reykjavik’s only gay club, club Kiki is 400 meters from the hotel.
The location was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable and the facilities were top-notch. Nice to be able to open the windows and also control the perfect room temperature with a thermostat. Nice breakfast and popular, highly-rated restaurant on the property. Since, I wasn't visiting to stay in my hotel room, it was fine for a solo traveler. I would definitely stay here again, especially for another good night's sleep.

The location was great and the room was clean and comfy. We took advantage of the sauna and hot tub which was a nice touch. Very walkable to everything you would want to see in the city. Street parking for our rental car was easy as well.

Breakfast was absolutely ok, but why mix up the bacon with potatoes? Loved the Icelandic skyr and the ginger shots.
