Hotel Le Méridien Hamburg is located in the city center of Hamburg. From the hotel it is just a 10-minute walk to the central train station of Hamburg. Major shopping streets, museums, such as the Hamburger Kunsthalle and the gay scene in the St. Georg district are also within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel offers well-equipped rooms, a gym and a wellness center with swimming pool and steam bath. In addition, the hotel has an excellent restaurant with delicious French and Asian specialties. Within ten minutes you can walk to almost all of Hamburg’s gay bars and clubs in the district of St. Georg. Generations Bar and Bellini Bar are the gay bars nearest to Le Meridien Hamburg.
The location of the hotel is fantastic, especially in a room, like mine, that is Alster facing. View is spectacular. I was fortunate enough to be upgraded, as guest of the day, to a suite, which of course made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. I needed a large computer monitor to be able to work in my room, and this was organised without any fuss or cost. I am not usually a fan of large hotels, especially as part of a chain, but this hotel is exceptional.

The room and bed and everything was wonderful. We've stayed before and would stay again. The only reason this stay was the absolute best for us was because of the view. I mistook the "city view" in the description of the room for the view of the lake, which is minor. And it wouldn't stop us from coming back, just be aware your "city view" is the back courtyard and rather boring! Restaurant was closed, but the Heritage bar was open and worth a visit.
