Getting around is easier with a rental car. Public buses, called “guaguas,” have limited routes. Taxis and ride-sharing apps operate in major cities. Ferries take you to Culebra and Vieques. Walking is an option in Old San Juan.
Puerto Rico uses the U.S. dollar. English and Spanish are common. The weather stays warm all year. Hurricane season runs from June to November. Plan your trip accordingly.
