The rooms of Francisco I are clean, well equipped and have a modern design. From subway station Opera it will take you less than 15 minutes to travel to subway station Chueca in the heart of the gay area of Madrid, by foot it will take you just over 15 minutes. In Chueca you will find many gay bars & clubs, gay restaurants and gay shops.
I wasn't expecting the hotel to be so good. Once you get used to the slightly garish white interiors close to the lobby, you appreciate how attentive the staff are and that the hotel has excellent cleaners. The staff working during the breakfast hours were particularly helpful.

The location is great, everything can be done by foot ! The staff is nice, the property is clean, the breakfast is ok and even if the room was located on the street, it was quiet with the windows shut.

I have stayed here previously with a positive experience. This time I was ill and forced to return to USA. They allowed me to check in in the morning, gave me advice on where to eat due to my condition, and prepared me a “picnic” breakfast to go as I had an early pickup for the airport the following morning. The picnic meal saved me as did the attention provided me by the hotel!
